How broker access works

Provisioning, identity, policy, and billing state are connected rather than managed as separate tools.

  1. 01A broker is activated only after its plan entitlement is confirmed. Failed or canceled checkout never creates paid capacity.
  2. 02Device credentials belong to a single broker. Rotate or revoke them without changing your account login.
  3. 03Subscription changes are reconciled with broker state, so runtime access and billing ownership stay aligned.
  4. 04Topic policy checks are explicit and reviewable. Test a rule before assigning its template to devices.

What counts as a message?

Usage includes each publish and each copy delivered to a subscriber. Payloads are counted in 512-byte units, rounded up.

What happens when usage reaches the plan allowance?

We record connection and message usage for capacity review. Reaching an allowance does not currently trigger an automatic disconnect; sustained overage may require a plan change.

Which MQTT features are included?

All plans include MQTT 3.1.1 and MQTT 5 clients, QoS 0 and 1, Last Will, TLS, and WSS. Growth and Scale also include QoS 2 and retained messages.

What if I need more than the Scale allowance?

Contact us for more than 10,000 concurrent connections, more than 50 million monthly messages, or contractual capacity and SLA requirements.
