RunMQTT offers three self-serve plans in USD. Each plan provisions an independent private Broker; none of them use the public testing sandbox. Annual billing costs the equivalent of ten monthly payments.

Choose Starter for pilots and compact fleets. Growth adds QoS 2 and retained messages for production workloads. Scale is intended for larger fleets that need more capacity, priority operations, and expanded support.

What counts as a connection
A connection is one MQTT or WebSocket client connected to the broker. Simultaneous clients count separately, including clients using the same device credentials with different client IDs.
The plan value is the expected maximum concurrent connection envelope, not the total number of device records stored in the workspace.
What counts as a message
Monthly message usage includes both:
- each message published to the broker; and
- each copy delivered from the broker to a subscriber.
One publish delivered to five subscribers therefore counts as six messages: one publish plus five deliveries. Payloads are metered in 512-byte units, rounded up. A 700-byte publish delivered to one subscriber consumes four message units: two for the publish and two for the delivery.
Retained message delivery follows the same message accounting.
Usage review and plan changes
RunMQTT records connection and message usage. If usage remains above your plan allowance, we will email the account owner with the required plan or capacity upgrade and a deadline. Complete the upgrade as instructed in that email. If you miss the deadline, RunMQTT will stop service for that Broker. Keep your account email accessible and act on these notices promptly.
You can upgrade or downgrade from the available plan controls. Billing and broker lifecycle remain linked so canceled or unpaid capacity is not left active indefinitely.
Billing terms
- Monthly and annual subscriptions are billed in advance.
- Prices are shown in USD; applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
- There is no setup fee.
- Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
- The Terms of Service control if this guide and the legal terms differ.
Pricing may change for future billing periods with the notice described in the Terms of Service.
Seven-day free trial and cancellation
Each account can receive one seven-day free trial on a self-serve plan. A payment method is required at checkout. Checkout shows your eligibility, trial end time and the monthly or annual amount that follows.
Complete subscription cancellation before your trial ends to avoid the post-trial plan subscription charge. If you do not cancel, billing starts at the selected plan price and billing cycle when the trial ends. Use the exact end time shown at checkout and in subscription management; do not assume any time on the seventh day is early enough.
There are two ways to end the trial:

After deleting a Broker, the stop and cancellation requests are processed in the background. Data is retained for 14 days before permanent deletion. This is a deletion retention period, not extra trial time or continued service access. The deletion dialog explains the billing cancellation, immediate stop request and data cleanup.
After either action, check the billing page to confirm cancellation, or scheduled cancellation no later than the trial end without entering a paid period. If the status does not update, contact us promptly with the Broker ID and action time. Do not leave the request until the final moments of your trial.
Closing a browser, stopping an MQTT client, or deleting an individual device or template does not cancel a Broker subscription. Use subscription management to cancel renewal; delete the Broker when you also want to stop and remove it. Existing charges follow the Terms of Service; cancellation does not automatically refund past charges.
Review actual workload
Open the Broker's Usage tab to inspect the available connection and message trends. Multiple members of a shared group divide deliveries, while separate groups and ordinary subscribers each add copies; see shared subscriptions. Monthly message units do not specify a packet-size, burst-rate or offline-storage guarantee.
